Mistake 1: Unreasonable irrigation system. The drip irrigation flow rate is low, and users often cannot see the irrigation process. If the irrigation time is too long, it will cause deep leakage and waste; if the irrigation time is too short, the root system will suffer from water stress. Knowing the water intensity of your irrigation system, your plants' water needs, and your soil's field capacity will allow you to better irrigate according to your plants' needs. At the same time, it should be borne in mind that the irrigation cycle and the amount of irrigation should be adjusted according to the climate and the different growth stages of the plants, and the same irrigation system cannot always be used.

Mistake 2: Using the wrong dripper. Drippers are generally divided into two types, pressure compensated and non-pressure compensated. Pressure compensated, while more expensive, are better. First of all, the pressure-compensated dripper can ensure uniform water output from each dripper, and uniform fertilization and irrigation. Secondly, some pressure-compensated drippers can wash out the debris that blocks the drippers, and some pressure-compensated drippers have a large flow channel, which reduces the possibility of dripper clogging.

Mistake 3: Lack of filtering equipment. Many users mistakenly believe that well water does not need to be filtered, but in fact well water often contains coarse sand, fine sand and some chemicals that clog the dripper. Common filters include filter screens, laminated sheets and media filters. If there is sand in the water, centrifugal filters should be used. Before starting to install the filtration system, it is necessary to analyze the physical and chemical composition of the water quality, use appropriate filtration facilities according to the water quality, and select drippers with anti-clogging performance.

Mistake 4: Not fertilizing through a drip irrigation system. The synchronous application of water and fertilizer is the biggest advantage of drip irrigation. The growth of plant roots is water-oriented and fertilizer-oriented, and the efficiency of fertilizer application with irrigation water is the highest. However, the use of fertigation irrigation systems must have a device to prevent fertilizer backflow to prevent fertilizer from polluting groundwater and other water sources.

Mistake 5: Lack of routine maintenance. Drip irrigation systems require careful maintenance for optimal performance. Units with conditions should flush the drip irrigation pipe frequently to ensure the smooth flow of equipment. According to actual needs, it can be considered to use effective chemical treatment periodically.

Mistake 6: There are no pressure gauges and flow meters. These simple devices can help users "feel the pulse" of the irrigation system to solve problems in the drip irrigation system that cannot be accurately judged by the naked eye. Use a pressure gauge to detect the pressure at the head, middle and tail of the drip irrigation pipe, and compare the design pressure or the historical situation of the water pressure to judge the problem of the drip irrigation system. The flow meter can help the user to quickly judge the flow of the water source. In addition, the flow data is helpful to calculate the actual flow and the historical flow of the irrigation system.

Mistake 7: Mistakenly thinking that all drip irrigation pipes are of the same quality. Different drip irrigation pipes have different raw material quality, production process and patented technology, and more importantly, the dripper structure design of different brands of pipes is different. You should choose drip irrigation pipes that can provide uniform water and fertilizer, have anti-clogging performance, long life, and are easy to install and maintain.

Mistake 8: Ignoring long-term running costs. Drip irrigation systems are often used for more than ten or 20 years to irrigate millions of cubic meters of water and fertilizer, so it is very important to consider the uniformity of irrigation, the operating costs of pumping stations, and daily maintenance costs. A well-designed system in the early stage can reduce the operating cost in the later stage through its good uniformity or energy saving. In addition, some suppliers have a lot of experience and know-how, can guide the user to choose the correct irrigation system, and provide assistance in operating and maintaining the system.
